The Stone Arch Bridge Festival is happening on 6/15 and 6/16, 2024.

Beginning in April 2024, crews began repairing the Stone Arch Bridge spanning the Mississippi River on the edge of downtown Minneapolis. Crews are repairing and replacing the stone, replacing the mortar on the entire bridge, and making other repairs as needed. Stone repair and mortar replacement will slow deterioration and improve the condition of the bridge.

During construction, pedestrians and bicyclists will not be able to cross the full length of the bridge through fall 2025. Crews will close half of the bridge at a time during construction, allowing people to walk or bike to the middle of the bridge and turn around at the closure.

You can cross the bridge at Hennepin Avenue and take the stairs down, or you can cross the Third Avenue bridge. There is plenty of parking and access on the Downtown side of the River to the festival's 1.5-mile footprint on West River Parkway.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by spring 2026.
