Abstract and Bio

Augie Smarkel graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.S. and M.S in Engineering with emphases in Environmental and Geotechnical Engineering.  After graduating he taught as adjunct faculty at California State University, Sacramento while working as a Research Engineer at the Office of Water Programs studying infiltration in bio-retention LID.  He started at Mid Pacific Engineering, Inc. in 2013 where he now oversees their testing laboratory and works as technical support for their Geotechnical Engineering group.
 
Mid Pacific Engineering was contracted for a geotechnical report for a project located in the AP Zone on the Hayward fault in Hayward CA.  This presentation will focus on the investigation and fault trenching as well as the slope stability analysis of the hillside and its response to strong ground motions using Slide form Rocscience.
