This 32 Hour Basic Mediation Training is designed to provide a firm foundation in Facilitative Mediation, with a blend of theory and practice.  The training will give participants diverse skills to empower parties and help them to constructively handle their conflicts and restructure their relationship.  The five core values of mediation (Self-Determination, Impartiality, Confidentiality, Safety and Quality) are a touchstone of the training and are woven throughout the training agenda.  The training will also address the legal, public policy and professional responsibility issues in Alternative Dispute Resolution.

This training is approved under Part 146 by the NYS Unified Court System's Office of Alternative Dispute Resolution Programs.

Rebecca Price is our Winter 2020 BMT Trainer!  Rebecca is the Director of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and is an initial mediation trainer certified by the NYS Unified Court System of Alternative Dispute Resolution and court improvement programs,  Prior to her Director position at the Southern District of New York, she directed the Mediation Clinic at Brooklyn Law School, was Supervising Attorney in the Mediation Clinic at CUNY School of Law, and taught ADR at the New York University School of Continuing Professional Studies.  Rebecca has also taught lawyering/legal writing and interviewing at the Cardozo Law School, and was supervising attorney in the Economic Justice Program at CUNY School of Law.  Rebecca was named as one of the 2017 honorees for Distinguished Leadership as part of the New York Law Journal's Professional Excellence Awards, and Frontline Champion by the Association for Conflict Resolution of Greater New York for Mediation Settlement Day 2019.
