A new scam has hit Plano phone lines. This time, they’re impersonating Plano police officers to scare residents into paying for bogus arrest warrants.

A Plano PD watch commander recently noted that in one hour, police received five reports of scammers claiming to be with the department, saying they have a notice for a delinquent arrest warrant and if residents don’t pay immediately, they were going to send an officer to arrest them. The scammers use classic fear tactics to pressure victims into paying.
