Shared office firm WeWork adds third Plano location

WeWork is opening a location in the Legacy Town Center office complex in Plano.

Shared office firm WeWork is growing its North Texas footprint again — this time with a third location in Plano.

WeWork has leased more than 53,000 square feet of office space in the Legacy Town Center campus at 6900 North Dallas Parkway.

The coworking company will occupy the second and third floors of the building.

WeWork already has two West Plano locations nearby in Legacy West and at the Shops at Legacy.

"We are thrilled to announce WeWork Legacy Town Center as our third Plano location," Nathan Lenahan, Texas general manager at WeWork, said in a statement. "As Plano makes its mark as a hub for corporate and regional headquarters of Fortune 500 and 1000 companies, WeWork will continue to support the area's growing business ecosystem with the flexibility and resources needed to grow their businesses."

WeWork leased its new Plano office from California-based KBS Real Estate, which has owned the buildings since 2012.

Alexandra Cullins, Dennis Barnes and Jackie Marshall of negotiated the office lease with Nick Masinter of Open Realty Advisors.

WeWork has almost a dozen locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Along with the new Plano coworking center, the company recently leased about 50,000 square feet in Preston Center for a new North Dallas operation.

North Texas is one of the fastest-growing shared office markets in the country, with more than 3 million square feet of coworking space in operation or announced by multiple firms.
