Plano ISD has upgraded its district security with new cameras, new alert system and 15 new SROs.

Plano ISD security has seen a significant upgrade. After school shootings dominated headlines last year, students, staff and parents called for better security at Plano schools. And the district responded.

During Tuesday night’s school board meeting, Joe Parks, executive director of safety and security services, gave trustees an update on the district’s expanded security measures. Since last year, the district has hired 15 new SROs and upgraded security cameras at several campuses.
