2022 County College of Morris Peace Prize

Put Your Creativity to Work for the 2022 Peace Prize

As an educational institution, County College of Morris is dedicated to the pursuit of truth, dissemination of knowledge, and respect for the individual. These and other cherished values were desecrated on September 11, 2001. Many fitting memorials have been created in memory of those who lost their lives, sacrificed their lives, and were permanently scarred by events that seared our very hearts, minds, and souls.

In an effort to pay tribute to the losses suffered and heroism displayed and, more importantly, to make a positive statement about the importance of the pursuit of world peace, the County College of Morris established in December 2001 an annual award known as “The County College of Morris Peace Prize.”

The Peace Prize was conceived by the college’s Center for Teaching Excellence and receives financial support from the County College of Morris Foundation. This program is open to all current CCM students. The objective is to create a work focused on the general theme of world peace and the human connection among the peoples of the world.

That work may take any number of forms including, but not limited to, expository or creative writing, video production, musical composition, or other visual or performing art. Students must refrain from using any materials, e.g., music or images, subject to copyright protections. Unless permissions are obtained or sources are properly acknowledged, violation of this injunction may lead to disqualification. The work may be created by one student or be the product of students’ collaborative efforts.
