RTL Today - Deep Knowledge Group analysis: Luxembourg ranked in top quarter for response to Covid-19 crisis

The London-based Deep Knowledge Group has published a ranking of countries' safety levels and management of the coronavirus crisis.

Israel tops the list of countries worldwide, due to their familiarity with crisis levels and experience with closing borders due to exceptional circumstances. Germany ranks second, particularly for their quick response to the pandemic and rapid mobilisation of support. The Grand Duchy can be found in the top quarter of the list, and rounds out the top ten in Europe.

In order to assemble the ranking, analysts gathered information on several factors, including the period of lockdown and the number of confinement infractions per country. Other indicators are travel bans, coronavirus testing and how well hospitals are equipped in each country.

In the global ranking, Luxembourg occupies the 23rd spot between Finland and Kuwait.

Italy and Spain can be found at the bottom of the list, primarily due to poor crisis management and hospital criticisms in the last few weeks. The USA is in 70th place.

The data gathered by the thinktank will come in useful for analysts within the financial sector, particularly when choosing countries in which to make long- or short-term investments.
