What changes?

The isolation period for people with confirmed Covid-19 infections will be reduced from 14 to 10 days. Quarantine is mandatory in that period.

Quarantine measures also apply for people who have been in contact with confirmed cases. The period lasts 7 days. On the 6th day, the person can take a test, which was previously envisioned for the 5th day.

It was furthermore agreed that facial visors would not be considered an acceptable alternative to masks. There can however be exceptions for people with medical conditions that would prevent them from wearing a mask.

The Chamber also decided that airlines operating in the Grand Duchy would be required to pass on all forms filled out by their guests to facilitate potential contact tracing. All pieces of personal information will be destroyed after 14 days.

What remains the same?

A number of active measures have been prolonged until the end of the year. It is still prohibited to invite more than 10 guests into one's home, or to meet with a group of more than 10 outdoors. In public spaces where larger crowds assemble and social distancing is not possible, masks have to be worn.

In bars and restaurants, no more than 10 people are allowed to sit at a table. Guests also have to remain seated and need to wear masks when moving around. Tables have to be set apart by 1.5 m at least, or have a physical barrier between them. Closing time remains set at midnight.

Masks still have to be worn in enclosed spaces, such as supermarkets, shopping malls and stores, as well as public transport. Children below the age of 6 are exempt from the rule.

Fines can be awarded in cases of infringements.
