This Administrative Officer 2 position oversees the administrative and managerial functions associated with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) and the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC) for the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). Duties include:
• Serves as the Department's accreditation administrator, coordinating PSP's accreditation activities to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
• Develops, reviews, analyzes, and monitors updates of accreditation proofs of compliance files, interprets Department directives/regulations, federal and state statutes, and all CALEA and PLEAC standards. Manages the development and submission of compliance documentation.
• Supervises subordinate staff by assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work. Evaluates subordinate staff performance, providing guidance and training, and participates in the selection process for subordinate staff.
• Coordinates and provides guidance to the Accreditation Contact Persons (ACP's) to obtain proofs of compliance documents.
• Analyzes and revises Department administrative operations, regulations, policies, and procedures for and affecting the accreditation program.
• Coordinates the development and revision of accreditation related reports and forms.
• Reviews revised and/or new statutes to ascertain their potential impact on the Department's accreditation status.
• Assesses PSP facilities for continued compliance with standards and prepares program budget requests.
• Represents the Department during standard compliance audits and hearings.
• Serves as liaison to accrediting bodies, boards, and commissions, and attends and participates in CALEA/PLEAC conferences and meetings.
• Audits accredited municipal law enforcement agencies and provides guidance in developing their accreditation/reaccreditation action plans, writes inspection reports, and issues recommendations.
• Performs other duties as required.
One year as an Administrative Officer 1.
OR
Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree;
OR
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Preferred Skills:
3 years of experience writing, preparing, and formatting reports
1 year of experience performing law enforcement accreditation work, or handling similar work involving the accreditation of public or private-sector organizations, institutions, or entities
1 year of experience coordinating accreditation activities to ensure compliance with accreditation standards
1 year of experience developing, reviewing, analyzing, and monitoring updates of accreditation proofs of compliance files
1 year of experience interpreting directives and regulations
1 year of experience interpreting federal and state statutes
1 year of experience supervising others
1 year of experience analyzing and revising regulations, operations, policies, and procedures involving accreditation
1 year of experience representing public or private-sector organizations, institutions, or entities during standard compliance audits and hearings
