As Luxembourg begins to exit its lockdown, the scheme is meant to track the progress of the outbreak.

According to a government statement:

“This strategy is a ‘proactive mitigation’ strategy for the pandemic. The overriding objective is to deal, in the best possible way, with the emergence of a second wave of infections as a result of the deconfinement measures.”

RTL reported that anyone who wanted a test would be able to have one. “Test stations should be set up across the country,” RTL said. There would be capacity for roughly 20,000 tests a day.
