BioneXt Lab announced on Monday the launch of CoVive, a smartphone application that requires no account creation and does not track users.

CoVive aims to relieve the pressure on healthcare systems by providing patients with personalised information on their health status to facilitate early detection of an increased likelihood of being infected with COVID-19, explanations of test results and by providing self-monitoring functions,” BioneXt LAB founder Dr Jean-Luc Dourson said.

In addition to allowing patients to access their own lab test results and upload activities, the app contains official guidelines and local information sources. Test results from other labs can also be uploaded manually. The app can also display the patient’s serological test results, a test which shows if a patient has developed antibodies.

In its initial stages, it is available in English, French, German and Portuguese.

In its statement, the firm says that the application is not a substitute for a diagnosis by a health expert. However, it “provides an assessment of the patient's state of health that can be shared with the patient's attending physician in a teleconsultation or at the doctor's office.”

Developed with digital health company Medicus.AI, the application has received CE certification as a class 1 medical device.

The launch comes just as Luxembourg prepares to offer nationwide coronavirus screening of residents and cross-border workers, regardless of symptoms.
