Lights, Camera, Afterschool!
Shine a spotlight on why afterschool and/or summer programs are important to you and your community! The Ohio Afterschool Network is hosting a video competition for Afterschool and Summer Learning programs to showcase why their program is essential to expand, extend, and support the school day. Be creative and tell your story! Winning videos will be recognized and aired at the 2020 OAN Best Foot Forward Conference, posted on the OAN website, and shared with State and Local officials. Video creators and their Program Coordinators will be invited to share their journey of creating the video at a session during the state conference.
There will be four winning categories:
* Future Social Media Specialist (Most likes on the OAN Facebook page)
* Future Director
* Future Screenwriter
* Future Videographer
Please follow these rules.
**Entries that violate these rules will be disqualified.**
Competition Rules:
1.All entries must demonstrate one or more element of this year’s theme:
- Afterschool and summer programs keep kids safe
- Afterschool and summer programs provide healthful snacks and meals
- Afterschool and summer programs help prepare the future workforce.
2. All entries must be created by students participating in afterschool or summer programs in Ohio.
3. Only one entry per program.
4. There is no cost to enter.
5. Videos must be 30 seconds to 2 minutes in length.
6. Students appearing in submitted videos must have media releases signed by parents and kept on file by program
administrators.
7. Copyrighted material/music is not permitted without expressed written permission of the author.
8. Videos must be uploaded onto YouTube and the URL shared below. Videos will be put in an album on OAN’s Facebook
page. OAN will send you a link to the Facebook page – remember to have your friends, family and colleagues go to the OAN Facebook page to vote.
9. Entries may be submitted starting November 8, 2018 and closing promptly at 5:00 P.M. on December 8, 2018. No late entries will be accepted for any reason.
10.Voting for your favorite entry will go live on the OAN Facebook page December 9, 2018 by 5:00 P.M. and close on
January 8, 2019 promptly at 5:00 P.M.
