Salary Range: $67,811 - $112,566 The Department of Correction and Rehabilitation is seeking to fill a Food Services Manager to oversee planning, directing and supervising the operation of three correctional food services facilities that operate 24/7. The three facilities include: Montgomery County Correctional Facility (MCCF) located in Boyds, Maryland, Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) located in Rockville and Pre-Release and Re-entry Services (PRRS) located in Rockville, Maryland. The successful applicant will be responsible for independently planning and carrying out all responsibilities of a correctional food service system. The combined facilities prepare and serve approximately 3000 mails daily to an inmate population and correctional staff. The department has sixteen Correctional Dietary Officers and two Correctional Dietary Supervisors who supervise the inmate workers. Duties include: - Menu Planning and analysis to include medical modification and religious diets;
- Supervising civilian and inmate kitchen staff;
- Ordering materials and food supplies;
- Assisting with the development of the Food Services budget and monitoring expenditures;
- Developing specifications for bids on food and materials needed;
- Managing food service and product contracts;
- Compliance with requirements of the Healthy Hungry Free Kids Act (formally Child Nutrition Program) to secure federal funding reimbursements and;
- Maintaining various records for audits.

If selected for consideration for this position, you may be required to provide evidence that you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities indicated on your resume. | | | | Minimum Qualifications | | | | | | | | Experience: Five (5) years) of professional experience in large scale institutional food service (e.g., correctional facility, hospital or other related long term care facility, armed forces, etc.), which includes menu planning, budgeting, and nutritional analysis responsibilities, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a closely related field of Dietetics that meets the requirements of the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience meeting the requirements of the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice may be substituted. LICENSE: Possession of a current certificate or other documentation indicating successful completion of the food service manager (sanitation) course required by the Montgomery County Health Department. Possession of current registration as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Dietetic Practice as a Licensed Dietitian.
