Hello Jae,

Glad you got it worked out.

For what it’s worth, I usually employ conda to install the latest version of pymatgen before installing matminer on my Windows computer:

conda install -c matsci pymatgen

pip install matminer

This will install all of the libraries that require VS Build Tools (e.g., pyspglib) with conda so that you do not need to install them with pip.

VS Build Tools solved the problem.

Is there any plan to put Matminer back up on Conda-Forge?  For some reason pip install matminer doesn't work on my windows build.  It is failing to build pymatgen, which is odd since it is already on my system.

Hey Logan,

I used those commands in that order and kept getting an error.

I had to install VSBuild separately and then everything went smoothly.  Not sure if that is a nuance of the security on my computer, the version of windows/Anaconda I use, or just the normal way things should proceed.

Once VSBuild Tools was installed everything went smoothly.

Best,
Jae
