On January 21, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public meeting to brief the community on and receive feedback about several bicycle and pedestrian safety improvement projects in the Fenton Village and downtown Silver Spring areas. 

The projects to be discussed are:

  • Fenton Street / Maryland 410 Intersection Redesign, which is expected to continue through the end of 2020 with permitting in early 2021. Construction could begin in spring or summer of 2021.

  • Grove Street Neighborhood Greenway Pilot Project, which is expected to be implemented in two stages. The schedule will be updated following the January 21, 2020 community meeting.

  • Fenton Street Bikeway Study, which is expected to continue through the end of 2020.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the East Silver Spring Elementary School located at 631 Silver Spring Avenue, Silver Spring.
