About this event

3Strands Global Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of the Texas Governor Child Sex Trafficking Team, would like to offer an opportunity for your school district and staff to PROTECT our youth from risks of abuse and/or exploitation.

PROTECT Texas © is a human trafficking prevention education and training program designed to reduce the vulnerability of exploitation by identifying and preventing human trafficking using an evidenced based, trauma-informed education curriculum.

Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing risks to our students and must be addressed. In fact, education about this crime is now required by HB111 which states that human trafficking prevention education training be included in school policies and training beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. The Texas Education Code and Administration Code requires districts to provide age-appropriate, research-based education to promote self protection and prevent sexual abuse and trafficking.

Once registered you will be able to access the PROTECT Texas online learning system. There you will be able to access training modules, resources, health and wellness activities, as well as ways to connect to others participating in the online training. The training will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.

After completing the PROTECT Texas training series, district staff may access the online curriculum with lessons they can teach directly with students. With our current health crisis, we have developed new trauma-informed prevention activities that will be available for students to work on remotely with guidance from their teachers.

In addition, our PROTECT Texas Regional Director, Aimee Bonin, can provide presentations for parents and community members on Human Trafficking and the dangers of technology.

Each staff member wishing to be trained through the PROTECT Texas program will need to register individually using a school email address. Once registered, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to log into the PROTECT Texas online system.

If you have any additional questions, please contact PROTECT Texas Regional Director, Aimee Bonin at aimeeb@3sgf.org or via phone at 512-534-7210
