The Museum is fully accessible for visitors with wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible seating is available for all MAD events. 

All floors of the Museum are accessible by elevator. The Museum lobby is on the ground level with direct access to the street via one automated door. Accessible, gender-inclusive restrooms are located on the Theater Level and Floors 6 and 7.

Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the admissions desk in the lobby. 

The Theater at MAD supports Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs), which are available upon request.  The door to the Theater is propped open during seating for public programs and there are no steps.  

There is one door to enter the sixth-floor classroom, which is wheelchair accessible.

ASL-English interpretation is available for public programs and events upon request, contingent upon the availability of interpreters. To place a request, please contact education@madmuseum.org. 

If you are feeling ill, please stay home to safeguard your health and the wellbeing of others. If you are experiencing any of the following symptoms—fever of 100°F or higher, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste and smell—please stay home. If you have been exposed to or diagnosed with Covid-19 in the fourteen (14) days prior to your visit, please stay home. You may rebook your ticket for a later date.

Smoking and e-cigarettes are not permitted anywhere within the building or outside the Museum.

Please make use of our hand-sanitizing stations located at all entrances and exits.

Restrooms are located downstairs on the Theater level and on floor 6.

An inherent risk of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19) exists in any public space where people are present. People visiting the Museum of Arts and Design do so at their own risk as to any potential exposure. We will continue to monitor state, city, and CDC guidelines to inform the Museum’s operations. 

Food and drinks are not allowed in the galleries.

No luggage or large backpacks are permitted in the galleries.

Free self-service storage lockers are available for visitors.

All bags are subject to inspection.

Only small, collapsible umbrella-style strollers can be accommodated on the gallery floors.

Children must be supervised at all times.

Sketching is permitted only in pencil and only on paper that is 11" x 14" or smaller. No easels are permitted.

Non-flash photography is encouraged throughout the museum, with a few exceptions. Sometimes an artist chooses not to allow images of their work to be distributed outside of the museum. In those cases, we respect the artist's request, and we ask that you do as well. If you have any questions about which pieces are permissible to photograph, you can always ask a museum guard. No video or tripods please!

Outside tours and lecturing are not permitted at this time.
