Join the Missouri Department of Conservation at the Locust Creek Conservation Area for a FREE class on frogging for beginners! Starting at 5:00 pm, there will be a classroom session where participants will learn about the Frogs of Missouri. Participants will get to sample frog legs during the presentation. A field portion will follow where participants can work on their techniques and harvest their own frogs. Registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment as supplies will be limited. Please bring a headlamp, shoes that can get wet and muddy (such as rubber boots, water shoes or waders), clothing that can get wet and muddy, insect repellent, a lawn chair and a water bottle. Anyone 15 or younger needs to be accompanied by an adult. A current 2019 Fishing Permit is required for anyone 16 years of age or older. Location Information

This 3,451 acre area is approximately one-third bottomland and upland forest and woodland. The remainder is comprised of cropland, grassland, wetland and old field type habitats.

Directions:

Western Portions - From Milan, take Highway 5/6 south 0.10 mile, then take River Road west 2.50 miles. Eastern Portions -From Milan take Highway 5/6 south 1.20 miles, then take Ribbon Road west 1.25 miles.

Age Policy:

All registrants for this event must be a minimum age of 12 years old by 7/5/2019.
