Short Description: Renovate a space in a Cambridge Public School and install washers and dryers for students who do not have easy access to laundry services at home, to use for their clothing and necessities.
Long Description:
This proposal would work to renovate a space in a Cambridge Public School and install washers and dryers for students who do not have easy access to laundry services to use for their clothing and necessities.
The specific space and school would be selected by looking at the current building layouts and 2019-2020 renovation plans across all Cambridge Public Schools. The location would also require an assessment of student need, servicing capabilities by staff at the schools with space, and insure privacy where needed.
The funds would cover the costs of an evaluation for cost and feasibility, as well as the costs of hot and cold water plumbing lines, electricity, vents and washers and dryers.
