Honor Those Who Served with Our New Veterans Collection From endless training to restless nights away from home, our veterans have sacrificed the comforts of civilian life to serve our country. Their families have sacrificed, too. While Veterans Day is just one 24-hour period dedicated to thanking veterans for their service, we believe our service members deserve to be celebrated every day of the year. That’s why we’re launching our new Veterans Collection with our always available military discount. History of Veterans Day November 11, 1918 symbolically marked the end of World War I and became known as Armistice Day. It recognized veterans of World War I. Following World War II and the Korean War, President Dwight Eisenhower changed the name to Veterans Day, honoring service members from all wars. Today, Veterans Day is marked by an annual ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, the closure of many federal offices and various parades and services in small and large towns throughout the U.S. A 2-minute moment of silence is sometimes observed at 11 a.m. to signify the end of hostility on the very first Armistice Day. How to Honor Veterans While a simple “thank you” can make a big difference, here are a few other ways: - Wear a red poppy: Since 1921, the American Legion Auxiliary distributes red, paper poppies made by veterans as a part of a therapeutic rehabilitation program. In exchange for poppies, the ALA accepts donations to support hospitalized and disabled veterans. - Recognize coworkers who have served: After active duty, most veterans return to civilian life and the workplace. Take this opportunity to express your appreciation in the office. Giving small trinkets to veterans such as a mini American flag or a commemorative pin is a simple, yet meaningful way to say “thank you.” - Visit a veteran’s hospital: Take time to personally show your gratitude to elderly or injured veterans by visiting your local VA hospital. If you have a busy schedule, you can mail a letter of appreciation to patients receiving care at a VA facility. - Gift a QALO ring or dog ID tag: Thank the service member in your life with a special gift from our new Veterans Collection, featuring the Camo Switch silicone ring and the G.I. dog ID tag. They’ll appreciate the rugged style. The Veterans Collection Crafted with our veterans in mind, the Men’s Camo Switch silicone ring is made of durable silicone that can withstand the toughest conditions while maintaining its shape. The quick-flip design offers two distinctive looks that can complement utility uniforms, dress blues, and everyday attire. Featuring a military-inspired design, our customizable Veterans Collection G.I. dog ID tags make great gifts for your K9-loving veteran. Our ID tags can be affixed to car keys, backpacks, and suitcases for an added touch of personal style while showing your pride for the armed forces. Military Discount Cost should never hold you back from displaying your commitment with a QALO silicone ring. As a salute to the men and women who serve and have served our country, we offer all military spouses, veterans, and active members of the U. S. armed forces 15% off all QALO products including the new Veterans Collection. From all of us at QALO, thank you to each and every veteran for your selfless service in the military.
