Virgin Atlantic has just announced their new summer routes from London Heathrow (LHR). the UK airline will be offering 108,000 additional seats by introducing a second daily flight from London Heathrow to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi for summer 2020.

Together with its new service to Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (BOM) in Mumbai Virgin Atlantic will have three daily flights to India.

On top of the new flight to Delhi, Virgin Atlantic will be increasing its service to the "City by the Bay" by adding a new weekly flight. Debuting on the London to San Francisco route will be Virgin Atlantic's new Airbus A350 aircraft which features a redesigned Upper Class cabin and a unique social space that Virgin Atlantic calls "The Loft."

Virgin Atlantic's new flight to Delhi will depart London in the morning

Tickets for the new service to Delhi will go on sale Saturday, November 23rd for flights commencing on March 20th, 2020. In order to complement Virgin Atlantic's current evening departure, the new flight will depart Heathrow in the morning.

With Virgin Atlantic's flights from London Heathrow to Delhi, Delta Air Lines passengers now have a smooth connection between New York, Boston, Atlanta and Detroit to and from Delhi. In an effort to accommodate business travelers Virgin Atlantic has decided to reschedule its flights to Mumbai for an evening departure from London Heathrow.

The new weekly service to San Francisco will add an additional 40,000 seats for the summer season for people looking to travel between the West Coast and Europe. The additional flight will commence starting in May with Virgin Atlantic putting one of its new Airbus A350s on the twice-daily route.

Virgin Atlantic will fly an A350 to Lagos starting in August

By August of 2020, Virgin Atlantic will be using the new A350 on all its routes to Africa and on four other destinations on its extensive network. The next new routes to debut in the summer operating the Airbus A350 are:

• Daily service to Johannesburg, South Africa starting in March 2020.
• Daily service to Los Angeles, California starting in April 2020.
• Daily service to San Francisco, California starting in May 2020.
• Daily service to Lagos, Nigeria starting in August 2020.

Simple Flying was aboard Virgin Atlantic's inaugural A350 flight to New York

Virgin Atlantic's first A350 took off for New York's JFK on its inaugural flight earlier this year. Simple Flying's Joanna Bailey was on board as an invited guest to report about the flight and describe Virgin Atlantic's new Upper Class cabin and the Loft area.

One thing passengers definitely love about the A350 is the tail cam that you can watch from your seat.
