Minister of Education Claude Meisch held a virtual questions and answers session on the Facebook page of his political party.

He explained that daycare centres will not be able to accommodate primary school pupils before 8am until the rest of the school year. He urged employers to show understanding if parents have to start work a bit later than usual.

According to the minister, a survey among parents showed that less than half of all primary school pupils will go to daycare centres outside of the regular school hours until summer.

As of 25 May, primary school pupils are required to go to school every second week from 8am until 1pm.
