According to information obtained by RTL, the government gave in to the trade unions' requests for a meeting. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will meet with union representatives on Thursday.

As a reminder, the OGBL, LCGB, and CGFP trade unions issued a joint statement last Tuesday in which they demanded a social dialogue with the government. The three unions criticised the government's decision to maintain extended working hours despite the country's easing of lockdown measures and without consulting the social partners.

The unions similarly lamented that the government did not get in touch with them about crucial projects such as the new epidemic protection law. They also argued that trade unions have to be included in exit strategy talks.
