MP Stéphanie Empain asked Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Lex Delles for details of the reopening of restaurants last weekend.

1,500 businesses in the Horeca sector reopened in time for the Pentecost weekend, with another 700 following in the week after, according to Delles, who is also Minister for Tourism.

Restaurants said between 30 and 40% of their tables were full over the holiday weekend; however, hotels saw guest levels of just 12%. Camping sites were equally empty. Delles ascribed the slow business to the fact that tourists from neighbouring countries are not yet allowed to visit Luxembourg.
