The legal period ended on Wednesday morning at midnight, three months after the administration's official declaration.

98 days have passed since the state of emergency was declared by Prime Minister Xavier Bettel on 18 March.

The administration decided on the move since the population was at serious risk and quick actions needed to be facilitated to fight both the virus and the social repercussions of the situation.

Three months later, two new bills were voted into law with a majority of votes that maintain a certain level of safety restrictions.

Regulations still include the mandatory wearing of masks on public transport, the limitation of guests in bars and restaurants, as well as the penalties for infringements.
