Bill Lapschies from Oregon has fought many battles in his life - the 104-year-old veteran defeated coronavirus, right in time for his birthday.

According to the Washington Examiner, the 104-year-old WWII veteran is the oldest known coronavirus survivor. Last Wednesday, he celebrated his birthday with his family less than one month after testing positive for the virus.

Lapschies told Oregon Public Broadcasting: "I don't know. It just went away. Sit out here, and you can get rid of anything."

The veteran was born in 1916. In other words, he also survived the Spanish flu in 1918. He was drafted by the US Army in 1943.
