The milestone coincides with the resumption of seasonal service to Stockholm, Sweden, which resumed Monday, April 1, at OAK. Seasonal service to Rome and Copenhagen resumes today, Tuesday, April 2.

Passengers traveling from the Bay Area may also celebrate by taking advantage of Free Parking at OAK when traveling to any of Norwegian’s six nonstop markets from OAK to Europe including:

Paris (CDG), France

Barcelona, Spain

Rome, Italy

Copenhagen, Denmark

Stockholm, Sweden

Oslo, Norway

The Airport’s Park Free promotion requires an easy advance registration at www.OaklandAirport.com/ParkFree and carries a value $96 over 4 days. It is available for travel dates between May 1 and Labor Day Weekend. Travel must be concluded by September 2nd. The deal also applies to tickets for travel on SATA Azores Airlines to Terceira (Azores), Portugal, as well as nonstop flights to the Hawaiian Islands.

“Norwegian Air has been a great partner at Oakland International Airport for the past five years, and we are proud to recognize this milestone,” said Port of Oakland Director of Aviation Bryant L. Francis. “Our mutual customers have benefitted tremendously from Norwegian’s presence here, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration and strengthening our partnership for many years to come.”

Norwegian entered the San Francisco Bay Area market in 2014, and its growth at OAK led to the Bay Area’s first nonstop flights to the Scandinavian capitols of Stockholm, Sweden and Oslo, Norway. Barcelona, Copenhagen, Paris and Northern California’s exclusive nonstop to Rome were added in the years following. In its five years of operations at OAK, the Norwegian has carried more than 1 million passengers from Oakland to points across Europe.
