Budapest Airport slowly restarts passenger services and recommends new health protection measures in the interest of passengers

Aviation, which came to a virtually complete halt due to the pandemic, is starting to reawaken throughout Europe, and, following Wizzair’s announcement on Tuesday and other route relaunch forecasts, passenger traffic at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is also slowly, gradually restarting. Budapest Airport protects the health of passengers and staff with continuous and increased measures, and, in the interest of safe air travel, also asks passengers to help safeguard their own and others’ health by complying with the new airport protocol and general regulations.

Budapest Airport prepared to manage corona crisis (19.03.2020)

Budapest Airport Zrt. is prepared for the various scenarios of the coronavirus pandemic. Management is continuously handling the situation, monitoring the developments and started implementing the necessary mitigation measures. In spite of the severe financial hit from lost traffic and lost revenues, the airport operator is able to maintain the safe and secure operation of the airport and ensure the restart of air traffic.

Authority checks commence for passengers arriving from China (01. 31. 2020)

Based on the decision of the authorities, all passengers arriving with direct flights from China must have their body temperature checked at Budapest Airport, prior to entering the country. The first flight where passengers will be screened is the Air China service arriving from Beijing, via Minsk, at 18:50 on 31 January.

Coronavirus: Budapest Airport prepared for extraordinary authority measures (28. 01. 2020)

Budapest Airport has significant stocks of all necessary protective equipment, and is ready to support the work of the authorities with detailed procedural rules, in case extraordinary authority measures are introduced at the airport. Budapest Airport is in continuous contact with the National Public Health Center and the Airport Public Health Branch of the National Public Health Division of the Budapest Government Office, in order to immediately implement any extraordinary precautionary measures at the airport, if and when they are introduced.
