The Irvine Animal Care Center hosts two large adoption events throughout the year, as well as various donation drives and smaller activities to support animals in need.
VIRTUAL 5K
April 2024. Registration is officially open for the Irvine Animal Care Center Virtual 5K. Throughout the month of April, you can make a difference in the lives of animals in need by finishing the Virtual 5K — completed at a self-timed pace and at any location.
Participate solo or gather friends and family for a fun community event. Complete the 5K distance anytime, April 1–30. Whether it's a stroll around the neighborhood, a treadmill session, or an adventurous hike, every mile counts toward supporting the health and well-being of animals in the center’s care.
To enter, submit an entry fee of $35 at irvineanimals.org/5k and complete the 5K by April 30. Participants who complete the Virtual 5K will receive an exclusive medal and certificate. Furry companions eager to join the fun can participate in the Virtual 5K alongside their humans for an additional $8 and will receive their very own medal. All proceeds go toward our Enhanced Care, Foster Care, and Third Chance for Pets programs.
SUPER PET ADOPTION
June 2024*. Adopt your newest family member from pet rescue groups or shelters, browse people- and pet-related vendors, and more at the 18th annual Super Pet Adoption event. Visit the Super Pet Adoption page in April 2024 for more information. *Tentative date based on center construction.
PHOTO FUNDRAISER
August 2024. The Irvine Animal Care Center will seek photo entries for its annual Photo Fundraiser. All eligible photos with a minimum of five votes by the end of the contest will be guaranteed inclusion in the 2025 Irvine Animal Care Center wall calendar. COMEDY UNLEASHED
September 2024. Support animals in need while enjoying a comedic night out on the town at the sixth annual Comedy Unleashed fundraiser at the Irvine Improv. Guests will be treated to dinner and a show with nearly half the proceeds going toward the Irvine Animal Care Center. Comedy Unleashed is open to adults 18 and older only.
