Since 1983, the month of April has been declared National Child Abuse Prevention Month. At CornerHouse, our work every day is dedicated to serving children, vulnerable adults and families who may have experienced abuse or neglect. Therefore, we are asking you to prepare for April’s National Child Abuse Prevention Month! So, why is it so important to bring awareness to this event?
Please help us to commemorate the 20th anniversary of National Stalking Awareness Month this January and the inaugural Stalking Awareness Day of Action January 18th, 2024 by learning more about the true criminality of stalking and the devastating impact it has on victims.
Although some stress and anxiety may be manageable for our children, we do want to be on the lookout for times that we notice our little kids with BIG emotions and our big kids with BIG emotions. Children and adolescents do experience stress and may need some support through change, transitions, and new experiences.

CornerHouse’s programming aims to address the short- and long-term effects of abuse for the child, caregiver, and family. Through trauma-informed forensic interviews, mental health services, and family support and stabilization, we help each child and family heal from trauma caused by child abuse.
We listen to people share some of the most difficult experiences they’ve ever had. Highly trained interviewers use The CornerHouse Forensic Interview Protocol™, which is person-centered, semi-structured and forensically sound.
CornerHouse’s Family Services team of advocates and therapists work to provide stabilization, ongoing support, advocacy and therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and caregivers.
Our training program expands our professional expertise and trains law enforcement, child protection services, prosecutors, and others in the fundamentals of forensic interviewing, how to work on a multidisciplinary team in cases of child abuse, and mandated reporting.
