Need proof that delivery services are transforming the way we live? Look no further than Ontario International Airport.

ONT will soon begin providing deliveries from the concessions in its terminals to fliers waiting at their airline’s gate area.

If the concept takes off, ONT could be one of the early airports to adopt it.

The service is a partnership with a startup called AtYourGate. Customers make their orders through an app that’s available from Google Play or the Apple App Store and are charged a $2.99 fee when the orders are delivered.

The service will be available from any of the airport’s concessions, according to a news release. They include Wahoo’s Fish Taco, Wolfgang Puck Pizza, and Rock & Brews.

AtYourGate has partnerships with seven other airports serving San Diego, Portland, Ore., New York City, Newark, Boston, and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

A competitor, Airport Sherpa, serves Baltimore.

Los Angeles International Airport, ONT’s former owner, partners with Grab, which is partnering with several LAX restaurants to take online orders. Customers pick up their orders at the restaurant.

ONT regained its independence from LAX in 2016. Since then, ONT has increased service to both national and international destinations, as well as its cargo flights.

It has also added to its concessions, including adding a service for business travelers called the Escape Lounge. For the price of a day pass, travelers get food, drink, wi-fi and a place to hang out. The first lounge opened in Terminal 2 in January, followed by a Terminal 4 lounge in April.

ONT provides service to 19 major airports in the United States, Mexico and Taiwan, according to a news release.
