Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorder in youth. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
This course will be divided into two parts, one being a 2 hour self-paced, online course which participants will need to complete prior to attending the 4.5 hour instructor-led video conference. Registration will be open until October 16th; at which point, your information will be entered into National Council's Learning Management System (LMS) to provide you with the tools you need to complete the 2 hour self-paced course work. You will also be provided a Zoom link to attend the 4.5 hour instructor led portion on November 4, 2020 from 1 pm - 5:30 pm.
*** In order to attend, you must commit to completing the 2 hour self-paced work PRIOR to attending class on November 4th, or you will not be admitted into the class ***
