Visitor Information

All visitors are subject to security screening at public entrances and then required to sign in with the receptionist on the 6th Floor.

Driving Directions

  1. Take the Falls Rd. Exit 5 on I270, and follow signs towards Rocville Town Center.
  2. Go thru traffic signal and you will be on Maryland Ave.

Public Parking

  • From Maryland Ave., turn right onto E. Jefferson St. (Route 28 East). Entrance to public parking is on the right.
  • For evening public hearings, additional parking is available in the Council Office Building from Monroe St. and Fleet St. entrances.

Metro

  1. Take Metro's Red Line to Rockville Metro Station
  2. Exit station at ROCKVILLE METRO STATION - WESTSIDE
  3. Walk - 13 min - 0.4 miles
    1. Take Metro walkway (crosses over Rt. 355).
    2. Continue straight ahead and proceed 1 block on E. Montgomery Ave. (past Regal Movie Theatre).
    3. Turn left on Maryland Ave & proceed 1 block.
    4. Cross at traffic light on E. Jefferson St. & proceed to Council Office Bldg. entrance with awning (on left).

Public Entrances

There are two public entrances to the Council Office Building:

  1. On E. Jefferson St. - located on the first floor (in the rear of the building near the loading zone and auditorium).
  2. On Maryland Ave. - located on the second floor (under the covered canopy near the cafeteria).

Using the Sidewalk Outside of the Public Parking Garage

  1. In the public parking garage, exit the garage to the left of the kiosk.
  2. Follow the sidewalk to the left and straight through the automatic glass doors.

Drop Off/Pick Up

  1. Make first right into public parking garage at traffic light at Monroe St. intersection (County fueling station).
  2. Make immediate right (before the entrance to visitor parking). Passengers can be discharged at the assigned spot.

Facility Reservations

The auditorium, cafeteria, and certain conference rooms in the Council Office Building may be used by the public and government agencies holding meetings of a civic, cultural or educational nature. Details about available spaces and fees can be found on the Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) website. Bookings must be completed at least seven days in advance by calling ActiveMONTGOMERY.
