New Albany High School graduate Aaron Westbrook, now a freshman at The Ohio State University, visited New Albany Primary School on Friday, using the opportunity to remind students that the arts and sciences are “huge” when it comes to fulfilling one’s dreams and career aspirations.

“It really allows people to become limitless. It allows them to see the possibilities in things that they thought could stop them, they couldn’t overcome,” Westbrook told his enthusiastic student audience.

Westbrook created and designed his own prosthetic arm and hand, printing a 3D version, and later did the same for a 7-year-old girl born without a hand.

He formed a non-profit organization to help others with “congenital and limb differences” in need of affordable prosthetics, using eco-friendly recycled plastics.

Westbook received the COSI STEM Star at the start of his presentation from the City of New Albany, an award given “to those who make a difference in the world of STEM Science (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math).”
