WINNIPEG, Manitoba — First Light Safety Products has introduced a program that will temporarily allow school districts and school bus contractors to buy disposable masks at below-market prices.

The school bus safety product supplier is offering its School PPE Purchase Program to provide a guaranteed supply of the masks after demand outpaced its recent donation of 90,000 masks, which it distributed through a partnership with the National Association of State Directors of Pupil Transportation Services.

“Our goal is to provide schools and contractors access to PPE [personal protective equipment], allowing everyone to get back to the new normal with one less headache to worry about,” First Light said in a flyer detailing the program.

Pupil transporters who are interested in participating in the program should issue a purchase order to First Light Safety Products, indicate their desired order quantity (minimum 2,000 pieces) and preferred lead time (10 weeks at 60 cents per mask or four weeks at 80 cents per mask), and pay a 50% deposit of the purchase order value. Upon receipt, First Light will confirm the estimated time of arrival and the shipment will be sent. The remaining 50% of the purchase order is then due.
