The program is now closed.
The Northland Foundation received nearly 300 applications from providers across the region and was able to make 180 grants totaling over $230,000. All available funds have been awarded. We hope they have made at least a small difference to providers caring for the children of emergency and essential workers in our region.
We have created a waiting list in the event we are able to raise more money and make additional grants. If more funds come in, providers on the waiting list will be contacted.
The Northland Foundation was honored to answer Governor Walz’s request to the six Minnesota Initiative Foundations to offer immediate relief to Greater Minnesota licensed child care providers. Special thanks to the following partners who helped fund this program in addition to Northland Foundation: Minnesota Disaster Recovery Fund, Blandin Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota Foundation, and Wells Fargo Foundation.
