ATLANTA, Ga. (WEHT/ABC) — In order to help travelers get through a new ‘no smoking’ ban in Atlanta’s airport, smokers are currently being given free nicotine lozenges.

That smoking ban took effect Wednesday night, which means smoking is no longer allowed anywhere inside the facility.

According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, over the summer, the city council voted to ban smoking in public places like bars, enclosed workplaces, and the airport.

Smoking outside the airport is allowed in 15 different designated areas, but, smoking rooms inside the airport have been removed.

Airport officials hope to ease the transition for flyers who smoke by offering free nicotine lozenges for the first 30 days.
