For Immediate Release: Tuesday, June 4, 2019
Thanks to Takoma Park Safe Routes to School and the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA), the iCan Shine Bike Camp will come to Takoma Park in late June to teach children with disabilities to ride a conventional bike and become lifelong independent riders. The program is seeking additional volunteers who are able to provide needed supports to riders.
MCDOT, through its Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program, has partnered with Takoma Park SRTS in the past on this bike safety camp and is excited for this year's program to be another great success. The camp is free and open to Maryland residents. View a video of the 2015 iCan Shine Bike Camp.
