For Immediate Release: Tuesday, November 3, 2020
On November 12 starting at 6:30 p.m, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a virtual Zoom public hearing about its progress on planning Segment 1 (from Falls Road to Snakeden Branch) of the Tuckerman Lane Sidewalk and Bikeway project. MCDOT staff will ask for resident feedback on the project schedule, proposed bicycle and pedestrian improvements, project costs and potential impacts.
The four Tuckerman Lane project segments would improve 3.8 miles between Falls Road (MD 189) and Old Georgetown Road (MD 187). MCDOT is evaluating the safety needs of pedestrians and cyclists, as well as the need for pedestrian facility improvements, such as concrete sidewalks, a shared use path and bike lanes.
Online pre-registration is required to receive meeting instructions. Prior to the virtual meeting, the public is encouraged to view project documents and an interactive map at montgomerycountymd.gov/dot-dte/projects/tuckermanlane.
